                     Sree Sowdambika College of Engineering established in 2000-2001 is an educational Institution promoted by the philanthrophic “Chockalingapuram Devangar Varthagar Sangam”, founded in 1919 by our prophetic forefathers. Understanding the need for higher education, the trust started Sri Sowdambika Polytechnic College in 1984-1985 and Sri Sowdambika Convent Matriculation School in 1986-1987. Sree Sowdambika College of Engineering is one more gem in their service to education.The board of Management constituted by the Chockalingapuram Devangar Varthagar Sangam helps in the development of the institution with a missionary Zeal.

Objective:

To impart in depth knowledge and training in the field of Mechanical engineering covering energy, thermal, design, manufacturing, industrial management, environment and to expose to the latest research, development and techniques so as to cater to the growing needs of the Industries and to mould the students as good CITIZENS of our Country.

 

Faculty:
The department has a rare blend of very dynamic youngsters guided by a group of eminent and experienced professors. In fact our principal who is one of the leading authorities in this discipline personally guides the department.

 

About The Department:

The laboratories and the workshops in the Department give ample opportunities to the students of Mechanical Engineering to gain practical knowledge and hands on experience in the chosen areas. The department focuses on overall development of the students, imparting soft skills through live projects, association activities, industrial visits, seminars, guest lecturer, group discussions etc.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering provides high quality education and discipline. The Professors and Lecturers make it possible to give individual attention to the learners and to motivate them to achieve their professional goals. The interaction between the staff and students is excellent and all the laboratories are well equipped as per requirements of the curriculum.
